John Sottosanti, was Co- Founder/ Moderator/ Chair, the Annual University
of Southern California Periodontal Symposium for 25 years. Dr. Sottosanti maintains
a private practice in San Diego, California, dedicated to periodontal therapy,
implantology and regenerative therapy. He has also taught in the periodontal departments
of the dental schools of the University of Southern California, the University
of California Los Angeles, and Loma Linda University. His research on calculus
and diseased cementum using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) has appeared in
many editions of Carranza’s Clinical Periodontology including the current edition.
Dr. Sottosanti has been very active in the American Academy of Periodontology
(AAP) where he has chaired many committees and is now on the Board of Trustees.
He has lectured at many prestigious state, national and international meetings.
In recent years he has been a featured speaker at several annual sessions of the
