presented by
Anna Pattison, RDH, MS
In 2013, new devices, new hand instruments, new ultrasonic tips and new techniques have changed the way we teach and practice. This presentation for dentists and dental hygienists provides detailed up-to-date information on the newest instruments and techniques that will enhance your ability to treat patients with moderate to advanced periodontitis. Periodontal endoscopy videos will show the effectiveness of various ultrasonic tips and hand instruments on residual, burnished calculus. New online advanced instrumenation instructional videos will demonstrate alternative fulcrums, new instruments and instrumentation techniques.
Outline

- The influence of the dental endoscope on instrument selection and sequence
- Video comparing hand and ultrasonic instrumentation
- Use of new Double Graceys, Micro Mini Fives, new Montana Jack and Nevi sickles, diamond-coated files, Quetin furcation curets, titanium implant instruments and other new periodontal instruments
- Comparison of magnetostrictive and piezoelectric ultrasonic units and tip design
- New subgingival air polishing technique for periodontal maintenance and implants
